#BookBlogWriMo: Book Pet Peeves

This is an version of NaNoWriMo for book bloggers. There’s a prompt for each day discussing various aspects of blogging. #BookBlogWriMo is hosted by Book Bumblings.

Today’s Prompt: Book Pet Peeves – What plot lines or stereotypes make you cringe or DNF?

I don’t have a lot of book pet peeves and I don’t mind reading books containing said peeves if the author can make them “un-cliche” (is that even a word?!).

I hate stereotypical heroes/heroines and villains because they never have any depth to them. They’re not complex enough and that’s not realistic because humans are very complicated. Similarly perfect relationships make me cringe because everyone knows even best friends fight at-least once now and then.

But even if a book contains some of my pet peeves, I still usually finish it. DNFs only happen when I don’t like the writing style or the book is just not what I expected and I’m not enjoying myself enough.

  1. I only DNF when I don’t like the writing style as well!
